About the role

iFIT

A remote Manager, Platform Engineering (Tech Lead) role for someone who wants to own the platform that makes iFIT’s holistic health experience possible—cloud ops & infrastructure, platform self-service/tooling, and AI-native dev workflows. If you like turning “we can’t move fast because the platform is hard” into “teams ship confidently, with less toil,” you’ll feel at home here.

The Work

You’ll be the person who sets the technical direction and operational bar for platform engineering—owning the systems and the standards that let the rest of the org build.

  • Own the platform roadmap and execution across cloud ops, infrastructure, and platform tooling—sequencing work so new initiatives don’t break reliability
  • Make the platform AI-native by driving modern AI-powered development workflows and rapid prototyping that teams can actually use
  • Run cloud infrastructure at production scale on AWS—writing and maintaining Terraform across the AWS footprint
  • Standardize the CI/CD template layer that service teams inherit—building “paved paths” with consistent delivery patterns, safe defaults, and guardrails (including automated checks and instrumentation) so releases are reliable and toil is reduced
  • Own IAM at scale—maintaining and extending roles, policies, and permission boundaries across hundreds of services, with automation that enforces expectations (not just reviews)
  • Eliminate toil through self-service—building the modules and tooling that let teams stand up services, manage deployments, and resolve issues without constantly routing through platform engineering
  • Maintain platform health and delivery outcomes—including incident response and on-call management, plus clear reliability expectations across teams
  • Partner across AI, Product, Security, IT, and Finance—communicating trade-offs, progress, and cost visibility, and overseeing platform-related vendor spend

What You’ll Need

  • Experience building and operating platform / infrastructure / dev tools in production environments (including reliability and delivery outcomes)
  • Strong cloud infrastructure depth—AWS EKS and/or GCP GKE and/or Azure AKS, including networking, storage, and IAM primitives
  • Hands-on ability to build operator tooling in at least one systems or backend language
  • Proven infrastructure-as-code and Git workflow experience—Terraform and CI/CD patterns you’ve shipped and maintained
  • Experience operating autonomously: making sound technical judgments and driving work from concept to production

Even Better If

  • Experience managing teams (hiring, performance management, and development)
  • Experience with cost management and vendor oversight in a platform context

Who Thrives Here

  • You’re at your best when you can hold the line on reliability while still pushing the platform forward—no hand-wavy trade-offs, just clear decisions and follow-through.
  • You communicate in a way that makes alignment real: you can translate technical constraints into crisp options for AI, Product, Security, IT, and Finance.
  • You enjoy building “the thing that removes friction”—self-service tooling that changes how other teams work, not just how you work.
  • You take ownership seriously: when incidents happen, you don’t just react—you drive consistency in operational practices so the same problems don’t keep returning.

The Team

You’ll lead platform engineering with a focus on cloud ops & infrastructure, platform self-service/tooling, and AI-forward dev workflows. You’ll work closely with AI, Product, Security, IT, and Finance to balance new initiatives with operational stability. The expectation is clear ownership, strong delivery habits, and practical communication—so teams can move without guessing.
